Dr. Byung Soo Yoo

Dr. Byung Soo Yoo was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Northern Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William & Mary and went on to complete his medical education and internal medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Following residency, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident and subsequently completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Yoo practices evidence-based medicine and provides comprehensive care for a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. His clinical interests include Barrett’s esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and colorectal cancer screening. Known for his compassionate approach and thoughtful, attentive care, Dr. Yoo is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yoo enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and practicing martial arts (Kendo/Kumdo). He is fluent in Korean.
