We participate with most commercial insurance companies as well as Medicare and Medicaid. If you have questions regarding a specific insurance company, please call our office at 301-838-4224. You may also send an email to billing@myadvancedgastro.com.

Referrals and Copays

Please contact your insurance company in advance to verify whether or not a referral and copay are necessary for your appointment. If a referral is necessary, it must be obtained prior to your appointment, if we do not receive a referral, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Please be advised that insurance coverage varies and you may be responsible for coinsurance or a deductible based on your individual coverage.

Prescription refills

Prescription refills will not be authorized if you have not been seen in our office within the last 6 months.

For prescription refills and pre-authorizations, please have your pharmacy fax the request to us so we have record of it in your chart. Please be advised that refills authorizations may take up to 24 hours and pre-authorizations may take up to 72 hours (depending on the insurance company).

Accepted Forms of Payment

Currently, we are accepting payment in the form of credit card or cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We do not accept checks for new patients. All copayments are requested at the time of service.

Cancellations

We respectfully request 24 hours notice for office visits and 48 hours notice for procedures if you need to cancel your appointment. There may be a fee for cancellations after this time.

Procedures and Associated Fees

If you are scheduling a procedure, we will make every attempt to make sure that you are covered by your insurance policy. If for any reason your insurance company decides not to cover your procedure or appointment, you may be liable for the whole amount.

Please understand that besides Dr. Gupta's fees, other fees may be involved if you are having a procedure performed. These may include a technical fee (charged by the endoscopy unit) and the anesthesiologist's fee. It is also advisable to call your insurance company before the procedure to verify coverage of the procedure and associated fees.
